Resilience planning meeting 12 October 18:30 - Village Hall

Posted on

Laggan Community Council has begun work to develop a resilience plan. Whilst not compulsory, we have been encouraged to do so by the Highland Council and this summer's wildfire around Nethy Bridge, together with the forecast for stronger than usual storms this winter due to El Niño suggest that a resilience plan could be useful.

A number of risks have been identified along with actions that may be taken by the community to mitigate their impact. We would very much like to share the plan with the community, to raise awareness of it, to get feedback and also to ask for your help. We are looking for all sorts of help on which we can rely in an emergency including with chainsaws, 4x4 and other vehicles, language skills, first aid and more.

Please do come along if you can.
